The Grubhub class action settlement benefits individuals who entered into an agreement with Grubhub to use the Grubhub platform as an independent contractor to offer delivery services to customers and who used the Grubhub platform as an independent contractor service provider to accept or complete at least one delivery in California between Dec. 3, 2014, and March 13, 2026. According to the class action lawsuit, Grubhub violated California law by misclassifying delivery drivers as independent contractors. The company allegedly failed to reimburse drivers for business expenses and failed to pay minimum wage and overtime. Grubhub is a food delivery app that allows users to order food from local restaurants. Grubhub has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $24.75 million class action settlement to resolve the Grubhub delivery driver class action lawsuit. Under the terms of the Grubhub settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the number of miles they drove while using the Grubhub app as a delivery driver. Class members who drove a larger number of miles will receive a larger share of the net settlement fund. All class members will receive at least $25. The deadline for exclusion and objection is June 18, 2026. The final approval hearing for the Grubhub settlement is scheduled for July 30, 2026. To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by June 18, 2026.
