Google Class Action Settlement 2026 — Privacy, Location & Antitrust Claims

Last Updated: April 2026

Google has faced — and settled — some of the largest privacy and antitrust class action cases in US history. From secretly tracking users' location even after they turned off Location History, to collecting data on Chrome Incognito users who believed they were browsing privately, to overcharging app developers in the Play Store — Google class action settlements are paying out real money to everyday users right now.

91+ people use SettlementRadar to track and file open class action settlements.

Google Location History Privacy Settlement ($62 Million)

In 2023, Google agreed to pay $391.5 million to settle a multistate attorneys general investigation into its location data practices, plus an additional $62 million consumer class action settlement. The lawsuits alleged that Google continued to track users' location data even after they disabled Location History in their Google account settings — by recording location data through Google Maps, Search, and app activity. Google users in the US who had a Google account and were affected by these location tracking practices during the class period may have been eligible to file claims. Check the settlement cards above for any currently open related settlements.

Google Chrome Incognito Mode Settlement

In 2024, Google agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it secretly collected data on users even when they were browsing in Chrome's Incognito mode. The lawsuit alleged Google tracked users' browsing activity, collected detailed profiles, and provided that information to advertisers — despite Incognito mode being advertised as a private browsing experience. All US users who used Google Chrome in Incognito mode since June 1, 2016 were part of the class. The settlement was finalized in 2024. Check the cards above for any currently open claims tied to Incognito-related privacy actions.

Google Play Store Antitrust Settlement ($700 Million)

In 2023, Google agreed to pay $700 million to settle antitrust claims brought by 50 US states alleging Google monopolized the Android app market through the Google Play Store. The settlement included $630 million for a consumer restitution fund. US consumers who made purchases of paid apps or in-app purchases through the Google Play Store between August 16, 2016 and September 30, 2023 were eligible to file claims. Eligible consumers received automatic payments or credits. Check for any remaining claims or new related settlements above.

How to File a Google Settlement Claim

Google class action settlements vary in their claims processes. Some — like the Google Play Store antitrust settlement — sent automatic payments to eligible users based on purchase history without requiring a claim form. Others require online submission through the settlement administrator. For Google privacy settlements, your Google account email and approximate account dates are the typical documentation. Google account history (visible at myaccount.google.com) can confirm your activity dates. SettlementRadar links directly to official settlement claim forms — always verify you're on the official administrator's site before submitting personal information.
