How eligibility works
Class action settlements are certified by a court for a specific class of people — typically everyone who purchased a product, used a service, or was affected by a company's conduct during a defined time period.
To be eligible, you generally need to:
- Fall within the defined class (geographic area, product type, time period, etc.)
- Not have previously excluded yourself from the class (opting out)
- Not have already filed a separate lawsuit against the defendant for the same conduct
Eligibility criteria vary significantly by settlement. Always read the official settlement notice for the authoritative requirements.
What information you need
The information you'll need depends on the settlement type:

After completing the quiz, you'll see a personalized list of settlements you likely qualify for, ranked by deadline urgency.

The Am I Eligible? tool lets you check eligibility for a specific settlement in real time. Enter the company name or settlement name and answer a few targeted questions about your interaction with that company.
Smart Match Pro
Smart Match is an AI-powered feature for Pro members that continuously analyzes your profile and claim history to surface settlements you're likely to qualify for — even ones you haven't searched for.
Smart Match surfaces matches based on:
- Companies you've purchased from (based on your profile)
- Data breaches linked to your email address
- Employment history and industry
- Geographic settlement restrictions
