Some groups meet weekly to provide feedback and answer questions, while others provide a one-on-one mentoring relationship. Engaging in the development of the next generation of attorneys is critical for all Hagens Berman attorneys. Training We recognize the importance of training for new associates. Given that many of our cases involve cutting-edge issues where we are the experts, the firm conducts many of its training sessions in-house. Our own lawyers present seminars on relevant issues via video conferencing quarterly, and provide in-person training at the firm’s retreat annually. Hagens Berman supports additional legal training in specialty areas in connection with practice groups and local bar activities. Feedback The firm prioritizes frequent and detailed feedback to incoming associates. Partners and associates receive a robust review annually, including representative feedback from those with whom a lawyer has worked during the year, and remarks from leadership. In addition, one or more partners perform a biannual check-in for junior associates. Attorneys also provide immediate and constructive feedback to assist junior and summer associates in their development.
